PickStack by LuceneX · Riga, Latvia · For businesses

Your packing rules, applied the same way on every order.

Food kept apart from chemicals, temperature zones kept apart, fragile goods kept on top. PickStack applies your rules to every customer order, explains in plain language why each item is on its pallet and tier, and flags anything a person must check. Book a call (or email info@lucenex.eu). We'll agree how to share sample data after upload terms are set. PickStack sits alongside your current WMS or ERP, with no system replacement.

For businesses only. PickStack plans are recommendations. Your team decides how loads are built and remains responsible for load safety.

Cost

€500 — no VAT charged (LuceneX is not VAT-registered). Pilot of 10 of your customer orders planned onto pallets. If the plans don't meet the pilot success criteria, we refund the full €500.

Risk

No system replacement. PickStack makes recommendations, and your team checks and decides.

The problem

Mixed orders make pallet building a series of judgement calls:

  • What can share a pallet. Food shouldn't travel with cleaning supplies or chemicals. Chemicals shouldn't sit next to electronics.
  • What goes where in the stack. Heavy, sturdy cartons belong underneath. Fragile and non-stackable items belong on top.
  • Temperature zones. Ambient, chilled, and frozen goods need to be kept apart.
  • Pallet limits. Every pallet has a weight limit, a height limit, and a fixed footprint.
  • Pick order vs build order. A pick list in shelf order rarely matches the order the pallet has to be built in.

In many warehouses these rules live in one experienced person's head or in a spreadsheet. When that person is off shift, or an unfamiliar SKU arrives, pallets get rebuilt at the dock, or rules get missed.

What PickStack returns

The core of PickStack is your rules, applied consistently and explained. Pallet count matters too, but it comes second to keeping every rule.

For each set of orders you plan, PickStack returns:

  • Pallet assignments: which lines and packages are on which pallet and tier.
  • Stacking tiers: bottom, middle and top tiers (layers) for each pallet.
  • Pick sequence: a pick sequence that starts with top-tier items, derived from the stacking plan, with shelf location used to order picks.
  • Plain-language explanations: why each item is on its pallet and tier.
  • Warnings and a manual-review list: items a person should decide on, for example hazardous goods (always flagged for manual review), fragile items with no known stack-weight limit, and items PickStack rates as high-risk.
  • Lines left off a pallet: listed separately rather than forced on.

For the warehouse manager: what the plan checks

  • Content compatibility first. Default rules keep food apart from cleaning supplies, chemicals, and cosmetics; chemicals apart from electronics and textiles; liquids apart from electronics; and cleaning supplies apart from cosmetics. Unknown contents go on their own pallet. You can adjust the rules for your goods.
  • Temperature zones. Kept separate unless you choose to allow mixing.
  • Crush and fragile risk. Each package is scored on weight, sturdiness, and material, then given a tier (bottom, middle or top).
  • Pallet limits. Weight, height, and footprint. EUR/EPAL is the default, and limits can be changed per request. Within those limits, PickStack tries to use as few pallets as it can, and it doesn't mix goods your rules keep apart just to save a pallet.
  • Repeatable. The same input always produces the same plan.

What PickStack is not

  • Not a WMS. It doesn't track stock, locations, or shipments, and it doesn't replace your WMS or ERP.
  • No live sync. There's no live connection to Shopify, ERP, or WMS systems today. Instead, you upload a CSV, and we import it into a plan request (once uploads open).
  • Not a layout solver. It recommends tiers (bottom, middle, top), not the exact position of every carton.
  • Not a route optimiser. It doesn't plan walking routes.
  • Not responsible for your loads. PickStack plans are recommendations. Your team decides how loads are built and remains responsible for load safety.

How a planning demo works

  1. Get in touch. Book a call at Book a planning call or email info@lucenex.eu.
  2. Sample data comes later. Sample CSV files are collected only after storage, retention, access, channel (and DPA if needed) are confirmed. Until then we do not ask you to upload files. On the call we can talk through which data fields a plan for your orders would need.
  3. 30-minute call. We walk through an example plan with you: pallets, tiers, pick sequence, explanations, and review flags.
  4. You decide. If it's useful, we discuss the pilot. If not, that's fine.

The pilot: PickStack on 10 of your customer orders for €500

For businesses only. This pilot is not available to consumers. PickStack is still being built. The pilot is how we test it on real (already shipped) orders.

The pilot is about the day-to-day pallet problems: rule breaks, rebuilds, and time spent on judgement calls. You see how PickStack handles your rules on your real orders.

  • What you get: PickStack plans for 10 of your customer orders. One planned order means one customer order planned onto pallets. Each plan comes as a JSON plan file plus a derived PDF summary. The JSON file is PickStack's own export. The PDF summary is prepared by LuceneX from it and shows, for each pallet, the SKUs and quantities in each tier (bottom, middle, top) and the pallet's estimated height. The plan also lists items flagged for manual review and any lines left off a pallet. It describes tiers of units, not exact positions within a tier. You can keep using delivered plans for your own business, including after a refund.
  • Price: €500 — no VAT charged (LuceneX is not VAT-registered).
  • Refund: If the plans don't meet the pilot success criteria, we refund the full €500. Ask in writing within 30 days after the pilot ends. Accepted refunds are paid within 14 Business Days.
  • Timeline: pilot window 60 days from when we receive the fee. Each plan is delivered within 5 Business Days after your inputs are confirmed complete. The pilot uses already-shipped orders only.
  • Extension: on your written request before the window ends, we extend the pilot window once, by up to 30 days. This is separate from the 30-day refund-request period.
  • Terms first: the pilot starts only after you accept the written pilot terms. Pilot terms available on request at info@lucenex.eu. No payment is taken before that.

What we compare

For each pilot order, we compare our plan with what you actually shipped, on a shared comparison sheet. This is a measurement method, not a promised result.

  • When an order fails: An order fails if the plan is late, breaks a rule you supplied or fails a physical check the engine supports (unit footprint, estimated pallet height, pallet weight, tier order against your stacking rules, area-utilisation heuristic), leaves a palletisable line off a pallet, uses more automated pallets than you actually shipped, or sends more than 20% of its other lines to cap-counting manual review. Lines over your pallet footprint, weight or height limits are listed as non-palletisable — they are not "missing" and do not count toward that 20%. Mandatory review for hazard flags, and for fragile items where you did not give a stack weight, also does not count toward the 20%. Hazardous goods are flagged for manual review. Plans describe tiers / layers (bottom, middle, top) of unit IDs — not exact positions.
  • When you get the full €500 back: You get a full refund if 40% or more of evaluated orders fail (4 of 10), if a plan is never delivered, or if fewer than 5 orders can be evaluated because of something on our side.
  • Excluded, not failed: orders with incomplete inputs, or with no record of what was shipped. A late plan still counts as a failed order.
  • Information only: fill rate. It isn't a pass or fail test.

Full details: pilot success criteria.

Responsibility: PickStack plans are recommendations. Your team decides how loads are built and remains responsible for load safety. PickStack doesn't plan dangerous-goods segregation unless we agree that in writing.

What data a plan needs

This is what a plan would need. It isn't a request to send files now: sample files are collected only after upload terms are set. You don't need all of these. The more you have, the more useful the plan. When uploads open, you upload a CSV, and we import it into a plan request.

Per package (required): package or line ID, SKU, length, width, and height in mm, and weight in kg.

Per package (helpful):

  • order ID and quantity
  • contents type (food, cleaning supplies, chemicals, cosmetics, electronics, textiles, glassware, liquid)
  • material (cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, bag)
  • sturdiness (sturdy, normal, fragile, very fragile)
  • whether it can be stacked on, and the maximum weight on top
  • warehouse location
  • temperature zone
  • hazard flags

Pallet limits: your pallet type, maximum load, and maximum height. If you don't provide them, we use EUR/EPAL defaults.

Your rules (optional): goods that must never share a pallet, a maximum pallet count, and whether orders or temperature zones may be mixed.

What happens to your data

  • PickStack is EU-hosted.

FAQ

Do we have to replace our WMS or ERP?

No. PickStack sits alongside your current WMS or ERP, with no system replacement. Once uploads open, you upload a CSV, and we import it into a plan request. Depending on your setup, some data preparation may be needed.

Is this AI? Will it give a different answer each time?

No. PickStack follows written rules. The same input always produces the same plan, and every pallet and tier assignment comes with an explanation.

Will it reduce our pallet count?

Pallet count is a secondary goal. Within your weight, height, and footprint limits, PickStack tries to use as few pallets as it can. It doesn't mix goods your rules keep apart just to save a pallet. We don't promise a result. In the pilot, we compare our plan with what you shipped, and an order fails if the plan uses more automated pallets than you shipped, unless the extra pallets come only from a rule break in your actual shipment. Pallets suggested for manual-review items aren't counted. See the pilot success criteria.

Who is responsible for how the pallet is actually built?

You are. PickStack plans are recommendations. Your team decides how loads are built and remains responsible for load safety, including load securing, weight limits, and dangerous goods.

What happens to items PickStack can't place with confidence?

They go on a manual-review list. Hazardous goods are always flagged for manual review, and so are fragile items where you didn't give a maximum stack weight. In the pilot, those two don't count toward the 20% manual-review limit. Lines over your pallet footprint, weight or height limits are listed separately as non-palletisable.

What does the pilot include and cost, and can we get a refund?

€500 — no VAT charged (LuceneX is not VAT-registered). The pilot covers 10 planned orders. One planned order means one customer order planned onto pallets. If the plans don't meet the pilot success criteria, we refund the full €500. That applies if 40% or more of evaluated orders fail (4 of 10), if a plan with complete inputs is never delivered, or if fewer than 5 orders can be evaluated for a reason on our side. Accepted refunds are paid within 14 Business Days. Payment happens only after you accept the written pilot terms. Pilot terms available on request at info@lucenex.eu.

Who is this for?

Small and medium-sized businesses in the EU that build mixed pallets. We work with businesses only, not consumers.
